Three Raiders Named To NHL Central Scouting List

Prince Albert, SK – Three Prince Albert Raiders were featured on NHL Central Scouting’s Players To Watch list for November on Thursday afternoon.

Defenceman Zack Hayes, goaltender Ian Scott and winger Simon Stransky were given a grade ranking by NHL Central Scouting for this summer’s NHL Entry Draft.

Scott, a former first-round pick of the Raiders, was given an “A” rating by NHL Central Scouting, which indicates a first-round candidate. He is the only goaltender in the CHL to receive an “A” ranking. In the first release of rankings, Scott was listed as a “B” player, which indicates a second-to-third-round candidate. The 17-year-old netminder from Calgary, AB has played in 17 of the Raiders’ 21 games this season with a 3.55 goals-against average and a 0.901 save percentage.

Stransky also returns to the NHL Central Scouting list. He held his position as a “C” rating, which indicates a fourth-to-sixth-round candidate. The 18-year-old from Ostrava, Czech Republic leads the Raiders through 21 games this season with eight goals, 14 assists and 22 points.

Making his debut on the list is Hayes, a 17-year-old rookie defenceman out of Calgary. He was given a “C” ranking on Thursday’s NHL Central Scouting list. The 6’3′”, 212-pound rookie has dressed in all 21 games this season, picking up two assists and 19 penalty minutes.

The three Raiders are amongst 58 WHL players and 168 CHL players ranked by NHL Central Scouting. The 2017 NHL Entry Draft will be held on June 23 and 24, 2017 at the United Centre in Chigaco.

The Raiders hit the ice on Friday night in the finale of their five-game B.C. road trip against the Prince George Cougars. They return to the Art Hauser Centre for games on November 23 against the Swift Current Broncos and November 25 against the Medicine Hat Tigers. Both games start at 7 p.m.

The November 25 game against the Tigers is Saskatchewan Rush Night. The Raiders will wear special jerseys for the game. For more information, click here. To purchase tickets, click here, visit the Raider Office or call 306-764-5348.
