Prince Albert, SK – The Prince Albert Raiders have traded one of their veteran defencemen.
On Sunday, the Raiders dealt ’97-born blueliner Brennan Riddle to the Lethbridge Hurricanes in exchange for a pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.
Riddle was drafted 17th overall in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft by the Calgary Hitmen. The Raiders acquired the Balgonie product from the Hitmen in 2014. Since then, Riddle has played in 111 career WHL games with the Raiders while chipping in 10 assists with 76 penalty minutes.
“Brennan was a great Raider,” said Raiders general manager Curtis Hunt. “He represented his team and teammates well on the ice and in the community. We wish him the best of luck as his career goes in a new direction.”
The Raiders host the Edmonton Oil Kings this afternoon in a 4 p.m. start. Following the game, fans in attendance are invited to skate with the Raiders. Helmets must be worn on the ice. No sticks are allowed.
