Game Preview: Game 67 vs Moose Jaw

SETTING IT UP: The Raiders (27-36-3-0) play their final home game of the season tonight as they welcome the Moose Jaw Warriors. The game will mark the final time that Evan Herman, Landon Kosior, and Keaton Sorensen call the Art Hauser Centre home. The three overagers have played a combined 629 games in the WHL. Prince Albert welcomes a Moose Jaw squad that has locked up fourth place in the Eastern Conference, and home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs, where they will most likely take on the Lethbridge Hurricanes, but the Regina Pats could sneak into the fifth seed. The Raiders will look to snap a two game slide, with the Warriors looking to extend their win streak to two games.

ONE LAST TIME: After four seasons of dedication, commitment, and passion for the Prince Albert Raiders, it all comes to an end this weekend for Evan Herman and Landon Kosior. And after being acquired via trade last seasonm , it also marks the end of Keaton Sorensen’s WHL career. Herman, who was named captain of the team this season, has played the most games in a Raider jersey out of all three. Playing his 213th game tonight, Herman has registered 62 goals and 58 assists for 120 points in his WHL tenure. Kosior, who is playing his 212th game tonight, has 44 goals and 88 assists, good for 132 career points. Sorensen, who was acquired from the Red Deer Rebels, has played 204 games. The forward has 44 goals and 53 assists for 97 career points. Unfortunately, Sorensen will be held out of the lineup this weekend due to an injury he sustained last weekend in Brandon, which means his WHL career has come to an end. The three players will be honoured after the game with the three stars.
(H)ANDY MAN: Carter Anderson has been on a roll lately. The 2004-born forward enters tonight’s game riding a three game goal streak. He scored in all three game of Prince Albert’s Manitoba road trip. Anderson has five points over his last five games.
AWARDS NIGHT: The Raiders held their awards banquet on Tuesday night in the Ches Leach Lounge. Among the winners were Ryder Ritchie, who took home rookie of the year honours. Landon Kosior came home with quite the set of hardware, winning the player’s choice award, leading scorer, most valuable defenceman, and most valuable player awards.
UP NEXT: The Raiders wrap up their season tomorrow night in Regina.
