Draisaitl Ranked 2nd, Gardiner 40th, by NHL CSS

Prince Albert SK – Prince Albert Raiders centre Leon Draisaitl is ranked 2nd overall among North American skaters on NHL Central Scouting Service’s midterm rankings list released this morning.

The Raiders leading scorer has recorded 19 goals and 35 assists for 54 points this season, tying him for 10th overall in WHL scoring. The Raiders 2nd overall selection in the 2012 CHL Import draft has the longest current point streak in the WHL, scoring in 10 consecutive games with 9 goals and 14 assists in that span. Draisiatl will participate in the 2014 BMO NHL/CHL Top prospects game on Wednesday with Team Orr.

Gardiner, who is ranked 40th among North American skaters, currently sits 4th on the team in scoring with 36 points on 19 goals and 17 assists. The Humboldt product has also recorded 7 powerplay goals and 2 shorthanded goals this season and sits third on the team in plus/minus with a plus-10 rating.

Draisiatl, Gardiner and the Raiders will play 3 games in 3 nights this weekend, including two games at the Art Hauser Centre; Saturday against the Regina Pats and Sunday against the Swift Current Broncos. Both games begin at 7:00 PM.
