Protas, Usau Starting Strong in Minsk

Dinamo Minsk

Aliaksei Protas and Ilya Usau have started their season on loan with Dinamo Minsk of the KHL.

Protas has played in three games for Minsk and scored his first professional goal in his second career game on September 7. Usau, who has suited up for two games for Minsk, picked up an assist in his first game on September 5.

Prior to the start of the KHL season, Protas and Usau helped Minsk claim the Salei Cup with a 3-0 win in the final. The Salei Cup is an annual tournament held by the Belarusian Hockey Federation that began for the 2002-03 season. It was Dinamo Minsk’s first win since back-to-back cups in 2005 and 2006.

Dinamo Minsk is 1-1-1 to start the KHL season. They are back in action on Sunday to take on Spartak.
