Prince Albert, SK – The Prince Albert Raiders have acquired 1999-born winger Brayden Watts from the Vancouver Giants in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2021 WHL Bantam Draft.
Watts, a Bakersfield, CA product, was originally drafted by the Moose Jaw Warriors in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft. He was traded to the Giants at the 2017 WHL Trade Deadline.
Last season with the Giants, Watts finished the year with 12 goals and 26 assists in 57 games. The 26 assists were a new career high. He added seven goals and three assists in 22 games during the 2019 WHL Playoffs, including two goals and an assist in the 2019 Rogers WHL Championship Series.
In 254 career WHL regular season games, the 5’11, 172-lb winger has 39 goals and 61 assists. He is also a veteran of 34 career playoff games, scoring seven goals and adding four assists.
The Raiders are back in action on Friday night as they travel to the Brandt Centre to take on the Regina Pats. Game time is 7 p.m. Head to The Rock And Iron Sports Bar to catch the game, or listen on 900 CKBI.
