Leavitt Machinery Preview – Game 65 vs. Swift Current


RAIDER REVIEW: The Raiders (51-9-2-2) play host to the Swift Current Broncos (10-46-4-2) tonight at the Art Hauser Centre. On Tuesday, the Raiders shut out the Broncos 6-0 in Prince Albert. Justin Nachbaur had a pair of goals, while linemate Dante Hannoun added a goal and two assists. Brayden Pachal chipped in three assists in the game. Aliaksei Protas also had a goal and an assist. Sergei Sapego and Eric Pearce were the other goal scorers for the Raiders. Ian Scott made 24 saves to pick up the win and his sixth shutout of the season.

VS. SWIFT CURRENT: This is the seventh of eight meetings between the Raiders and Broncos. The Raiders hold a 5-0-0-1 record against the Broncos this season, including 3-0-0-0 at home.

SCOTTY MUNRO MEMORIAL TROPHY: The Raiders clinched the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy with Tuesday night’s win over the Swift Current Broncos. This is the second time in franchise history that the Raiders have won the WHL’s regular season championship. The Raiders now have home-ice advantage for as long as they are in the WHL Playoffs.

WELCOME RETURNS: Parker Kelly and Max Martin returned to the lineup in Tuesday night’s win over the Broncos and made an immediate impact. Both players picked up an assist in their first game back. Martin, who missed six games, ran his point streak to three games and now has six goals and 33 assists this season. Kelly also has points in back-to-back games after serving his three-game suspension and tied his career high in points with 59 (30g-29a).

HEATING UP: Justin Nachbaur recorded his third multi-goal game of the season and fifth of his career on Tuesday night against Swift Current. The Cross Lake, MB product has goals in three of his last four games to bring his total to 19 on the season. Nachbaur needs one point to reach 50 for his WHL career.

NEXT UP: The Raiders head to Swift Current on Sunday afternoon to close out the week-long series against the Broncos at the Innovation Credit Union i-Plex. Game time is 4 p.m. The next Raiders’ home game is on Saturday, March 16 against the Saskatoon Blades in the regular season home finale.
