Calgary, Alta. – The Western Hockey League announced today that Ian Scott of the Prince Albert Raiders has been named the WHL Eli Wilson Goaltending Goaltender of the Week and league nominee for the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending March 10, 2019.

In three appearances this week, the Toronto Maple Leafs prospect sported a 3-0-0-0 record, 0.00 goals-against average and stopped all 52 shots that came his way for an impressive 1.000 save percentage as the Raiders became WHL Regular Season Champions winning the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy. With his eighth shutout of the campaign, Scott also set a new Raiders franchise record for shutouts in a single season.

Beginning his shutout reign on Tuesday, Scott stopped 24 shots from the Swift Current Broncos in a 6-0 win and earned both the third star of the game and the third star of the night in the WHL. On Friday, Scott’s spectacular effort continued, stopping 14 shots in an 8-0 home win against the Broncos. Scott repeated his performance on Sunday in Swift Current when he stopped 14 shots in a 6-0 win.

Through 47 games this season, the 6-foot-3, 183-pound netminder has posted a record of 37-7-1-2, 1.82 GAA, .932 SV% and eight shutouts. Scott was originally selected ninth overall in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft and has appeared in 173 career WHL Regular Season games, posting an 86-63-9-5 record, 2.91 GAA, .905 SV% and 11 shutouts. This week marks the fourth time this season Scott has been named the WHL Eli Wilson Goaltending Goaltender of the Week.

At the 2017 NHL Draft, the Maple Leafs selected the Calgary, Alta. product in the fourth round, 110thoverall. On December 14, 2019, Scott signed a three-year entry-level contract with the NHL team. Prior to his signing, Scott made his professional hockey debut last season with the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies, earning a 4-3 victory against Belleville Senators.

Up next, the Raiders will visit the Saskatoon Blades on Friday night at SaskTel Centre. The Raiders return home on Saturday to take on the Blades at the Art Hauser Centre on Fan Appreciation Night. Tickets are available at and the Raider Office.
