Leavitt Machinery Preview – Game 58 vs. Moose Jaw


RAIDER REVIEW: The Raiders (46-8-1-2) welcome the Moose Jaw Warriors (31-15-6-2) to the Art Hauser Centre for a Family Day matinée. On Saturday, the Raiders were defeated 6-3 by the Brandon Wheat Kings at Westoba Place. Stelio Mattheos led the way for the Wheaties with a hat trick and an assist. For the Raiders, Justin Nachbaur scored a pair of goals in the loss. Dante Hannoun scored the Raiders’ other goal. Boston Bilous got the start and stopped five of seven shots before being replaced by Brett Balas. The goaltender from Calgary made 15 saves while taking his first WHL loss.

VS. MOOSE JAW: This is the fifth meeting of the year between the Raiders and the Warriors. The Raiders hold a 3-1-0-0 record in the season series, including a 4-3 victory over the Warriors at the Art Hauser Centre in their last game.

NACHBAUR’S GOALS: Saturday night was the second time this season Justin Nachbaur netted a pair of goals. He previously scored twice in a game this season on Dec. 15 against the Swift Current Broncos. It was also the fourth time in his WHL career that he recorded two goals in a game. The Cross Lake, MB product has a career high in goals with 15 and points with 25 this season.

KELLY’S STREAK: Parker Kelly had a six-game point streak snapped in Saturday night’s loss to the Wheat Kings. Over that span, Kelly had six goals and three assists and was third in team scoring. The Ottawa Senators prospect is one goal away from reaching 30 goals for the first time in his WHL career. Kelly has 29 goals and 28 assists in 56 games played this year.

NEW CAREER HIGH: With his goal on Saturday night, Dante Hannoun set a new career high with 27 this season. His previous high was 26 during the 2015-16 season with the Royals. This year, Hannoun had 19 goals with the Royals before scoring eight since joining the Raiders via a trade in January.

ROADIES: Saturday night’s loss in Brandon snapped a five-game road winning streak for the Raiders. This season, the Raiders have 25 road wins, which is two off the team record of 27 set during the 1984-85 season.

NEXT UP: The Raiders are at the Art Hauser Centre for two games this weekend, beginning with a Friday night tilt with the Kootenay ICE (11-36-7-1). On Saturday, the Raiders take on the Brandon Wheat Kings (26-22-3-4). Both games begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at and the Raider Office.
