Prince Albert, SK – Jordy Stallard will be staying in his home province of Manitoba.
On Saturday, it was announced Stallard signed an amateur tryout agreement with the AHL’s Manitoba Moose. The Brandon, MB product was drafted in the fifth round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft by the Winnipeg Jets.
“It’s pretty cool,” said Stallard in an interview posted to the Manitoba Moose’s YouTube channel. “I’m just trying to soak it all in and learn from every guy possible.”
Stallard led the team with 44 goals and 91 points while suiting up in all 72 regular season contests. During the WHL Playoffs, he added three goals and five assists in the best-of-seven series against the Moose Jaw Warriors.
In his WHL career, Stallard played in 267 career regular season and post-season games with the Raiders and Calgary Hitmen. He scored 93 total goals to go along with 128 assists.
Stallard joined the Raiders at the 2017 WHL Trade Deadline, playing in eight games before suffering a season-ending injury. He played in eight games prior to the injury, picking up six goals and four assists.
The Manitoba Moose have three games left in their regular season schedule, including Sunday’s contest against the Bakersfield Condors. The Moose (40-25-4-4) currently sit in second place of the AHL’s Central Division and have clinched a playoff spot.
