In the second, Red Deer got on the board when Alex Morozoff cut in from the wing and beat Scott. The Rebels tied it with 2:22 to play in the period. A shot from the point ricocheted off of Josh Tarzwell and past Scott to level the score at 2-2.
The Raiders regained the lead before the end of the period. Brett Leason worked into the slot and beat Anders to make it a 3-2 game with 44 seconds to play in the period.
Scott and the Raiders’ penalty killers fended off the Rebels’ attack in the third. The Raiders goaltender stopped all 14 shots in the period. The PK units did their part by killing off four consecutive penalties in the first half of the period, including a full two minutes of five-on-three play.
Scott’s performance earned him the game’s first star and, more importantly, his 18th win of the season. Anders stopped 20 shots in the loss.
