Raiders Sign George King

Prince Albert, SK – The Prince Albert Raiders have signed ’98-born forward George King.

King, who hails from Calgary, AB, had five goals in 18 games with the Regina Pats earlier this season.

Last season, the 6’0”, 171-pound right winger was a teammate of Raider rookie Justin Nachbaur on the MJHL’s OCN Blizzard. King had 36 goals and 18 assists in 55 games last year. He lead the team in goals and was tied for the team lead in points.

In other roster news, Cody Paivarinta has left the Raiders for personal reasons.

The Raiders’ roster now sits at 14 forwards, seven defencemen, and two goaltenders for a total of 23 players.

The Raiders are in action on Wednesday night in Cranbrook against the Kootenay ICE (11-14-1-0) to open a three-game road trip through the Central Division. The game begins at 8 p.m. CST at Western Financial Place.

The next Raiders’ home game is on Wednesday, December 6 against the Medicine Hat Tigers. Game time is 7 p.m.

On Friday, December 8, the Raiders will hold their annual Teddy Bear Toss. This year’s opponent is Dylan Ferguson and the Kamloops Blazers. Puck drop is also 7 p.m.
