Prince Albert, SK – The Prince Albert Raiders are proud to announce the selection of defenceman Rhett Rhinehart with the team’s first selection, 13th overall, in the first round of the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.

“Rhett is one of the youngest guys in this year’s draft. He has been one of the most improved players throughout this past season and is someone who could make the WHL very soon and continue to improve,” explained Raiders Director of Player Personnel Ron Gunville. “Rhett is a big physical right handed defenceman who has a good shot and can add some offence to our blue line in the future.”

Rhinehart, a 14-year-old from Lloydminster, AB, played the 2015-16 season with the Yale Hockey Academy Bantam Prep team where he compiled five goals and 13 assists for 18 points in 25 contests. In four playoff games, he scored two goal and six assists for eight points. Rhinehart also spent time last year with Yale’s Elite 15s squad where he skated in five games.
