Raiders Mourn Loss Of Longtime Volunteer

The Prince Albert Raiders are saddened to learn of the passing of George Sinclair.

George volunteered with the Raiders since the beginning of the organization. He was an integral part of the off-ice officiating staff.

Gerry Bergen, the Raiders’ off-ice official co-ordinator, volunteered with George for 33 years.

“He was a great person who couldn’t say no,” Bergen said.

“George volunteered 45 years as an off-ice-official , for the Prince Albert Raiders, in the capacity of goal Judge. He looked forward to the start of each season and always wanted to work the Green and Gold game to see what kind of team we would have.

“George was dedicated and you could rely on him to fulfill his scheduled games and be ready to fill in as needed. In the officials room, George always had a story and full of laughs along with some strong opinions.

“During his 45 years with the Raiders, George worked alongside 39 different off-Ice-officials.

“George also spent many years as a volunteer in fastball and minor hockey.  He was a great community person and will be missed by many.”

From the entire Prince Albert Raiders staff, we express our deepest condolences to the Sinclair family.
