Raiders, CMHA Prince Albert Team Up For Talk Today Mental Health Game

Prince Albert, SK – The Prince Albert Raiders and Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Prince Albert Branch are teaming up to raise awareness about the importance of mental health during our game on Friday, February 16 against the Brandon Wheat Kings.

February 16’s game against the Wheat Kings will feature:

  • A CMHA-run kiosk so fans can learn more about mental health
  • Videos featuring Raider players talking about the importance of mental health
  • Public address announcements about mental health
  • Raffle for a team autographed quilt with the proceeds being donated to the CMHA Prince Albert branch.

The awareness campaign is part of the continuing commitment by the Prince Albert Raiders and CMHA Prince Albert to implement the Talk Today program. Talk Today provides mental health support to players and raises awareness about mental health and suicide prevention throughout communities across the WHL and the rest of the Canadian Hockey League.

A key piece of the Talk Today program has been to educate players about mental health and suicide prevention. Every team has received mental health training specific to suicide prevention. Each team is also now linked to a CMHA Mental Health Coach, who provides support and mental health resources to individuals in need.

“Mental health affects everybody! CMHA Prince Albert Branch is proud to Partner with the Prince Albert Raiders as they show the leadership needed to reduce the stigma of mental health in our community,” said Doug Kinar, Executive Director of CMHA Prince Albert Branch.

February 16’s game against the Wheat Kings begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at, the Raider Office, or by calling 306-764-5348.
