RAIDER REVIEW: The Raiders play the first of two games this weekend in Brandon tonight against the Wheat Kings. Last night, the Raiders fell 2-1 in overtime to the Regina Pats at the Art Hauser Centre. Spencer Moe scored the Raiders’ lone goal in the loss. Curtis Meger started his fourth-straight game and made 31 saves in a losing effort.

VS. BRANDON: This is the first meeting of the year between the Raiders and the Brandon Wheat Kings. Last year, the Raiders won four of the six games against the Wheaties. In the last meeting between the two teams, Brandon skated to a 5-3 victory over the Raiders on March 11.

FAMILIAR FOES: The Raiders and Wheat Kings will become very familiar with each other this month. The two teams face off three times in the next two weeks. After tonight, they play again tomorrow and on October 27 in P.A.

FIRST: Prince Albert Raiders rookie Rhett Rhinehart recorded his first career WHL point in Friday night’s loss to the Regia Pats. Rhinehart collected the secondary assist on Spencer Moe’s game-tying goal in the third period.

SUSPENSION: On Tuesday, Raiders defenceman Brayden Pachal was assessed a three-game suspension for receiving a five-minute major for slashing and a game misconduct during Saturday night’s win over the Medicine Hat Tigers. He is eligible to return on Tuesday, October 17 against the Vancouver Giants.

NEXT UP: The Raiders will stay overnight in Brandon to face off with the Wheat Kings again on Sunday afternoon at Westman Place. Puck drop is 3 p.m. The Raiders are back at the Art Hauser Centre on Tuesday, October 17 when the Vancouver Giants make their biennial visit to P.A. in the first of our BC Passport games. Fans can pick up their passport when they enter the game. If they collect a stamp from each game against the BC Division this season, they will be entered into a draw for a trip t British Columbia.
