RAIDER REVIEW: The Raiders (20-20-7-2) take on the Red Deer Rebels (12-25-9-3) at the Art Hauser Centre tonight. In their last game, the Raiders’ offence exploded in a 9-2 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings on Saturday night. Vojtech Budik led the way with a goal and three assists. Ian Scott made his fifth straight start, stopping 18 shots to pick up the win. The win was Scott’s 14th of the season, setting a new career high for wins in one campaign.

VS. RED DEEER: This is the third of four matchups between the Raiders and the Rebels this season. The Raiders have won both of their meetings against Red Deer. In the last game at the Art Hauser Centre, Kody McDonald scored in overtime to lift the Raiders to a 2-1 victory over the Rebels.

OFFENCE HEATING UP: The Raiders scored 15 goals in their two home games last weekend, including a season-high nine in Saturday night’s win over the Oil Kings. The last time the Raiders scored nine goals in a game was also a 9-2 victory, this time over Moose Jaw on March 4, 2014. The Raiders also set a season high with a seven-goal margin of victory.

DROUGHTS OVER: Three Raiders ended some long scoring droughts on Saturday night. Zack Hayes ended a 42-game goalless streak with his third-period goal. Justin Nachbaur also snapped a streak of 20 games without a goal with a third-period marker. Finally, Nikita Krivokrasov secured his first career WHL point with the final goal of Saturday’s game, ending a 21-game pointless streak.

TOP PROSPECT CONFIDENCE: After scoring in the 2018 Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game on Thursday, Cole Fonstad scored three goals in two games last weekend. Those goals snapped a nine-game goalless drought for the 2018 NHL Draft eligible prospect. Fonstad now has 15 goals and a team-leading 36 assists in 49 games played.
