Leavitt Machinery Preview – Game 40 vs. Red Deer
RAIDER REVIEW: The Raiders (14-17-6-2) host the Red Deer Rebels (10-21-6-2) tonight at the Art Hauser Centre. Last night, the Raiders defeated the Kootenay ICE 7-3 to open a three-in-three weekend. Brayden Pachal and Regan Nagy both had a pair of goals. Jordy Stallard, Brett Leason, and Parker Kelly also found the back of the net in the win that snapped a five-game losing streak. Ian Scott made 21 saves in the win for the Raiders.
VS. RED DEER: This is the first game between the Raiders and the Rebels this season. Last season, the Raiders won one of the four matchups. Red Deer won both games at the Art Hauser Centre.

ADDING McDONALD: The Raiders acquired 1998-born centreman Kody McDonald and a conditional third or fourth pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft from the Prince George Cougars on Saturday morning in exchange for defencemen Rhett Rhinehart and Austin Crossley, as well as the Raiders’ first-round pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft. BUDIK RETURNS: Defenceman Vojtech Budik wrapped up his campaign at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship on Friday afternoon as the Czech Republic lost 9-3 to the United States in the bronze medal game. Budik played in all seven games for the Czech squad this year, finishing the tournament with five assists.
MAKING THEIR POINTS: Newly acquired Regan Nagy and Jeremy Masella both found the scoresheet on Friday night in their first game with the Raiders. Nagy potted a pair of goals, while Masella picked up an assist.
ROSTER NEWS: The Raiders have released overager Devon Skoleski. The Raiders’ roster now sits at two goaltenders, seven defenceman, and 13 forwards.
NEXT UP: The Raiders hit the road for a Sunday afternoon tilt against the Regina Pats at the Brandt Centre.
