RAIDER REVIEW: The Raiders (9-9-3-0) finish their American road trip tonight at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena against the Spokane Chiefs (10-8-1-2). Last night in Kennewick, the Raiders dropped a 4-1 game to the Tri-City Americans. Parker Kelly scored the lone goal for the Raiders, deflecting Cole Fonstad’s shot from the left faceoff circle into the net. Ian Scott stopped 32 shots in a losing effort.
VS. SPOKANE: This is the lone game between the Raiders and the Spokane Chiefs. Last year, the Raiders dropped a 4-2 game to the Chiefs at the Art Hauser Centre. In their last trip to Spokane, the Raiders scored five third-period goals to earn a 7-4 come-from-behind win on October 16, 2015.
VS. US DIVISION: This is the final game against the US Division for the Raiders this season. The Raiders are 1-3 against the division so far. Last year, the Raiders lost all five games against their American opponents.
RETURNING TO SPOKANE: Captain Curtis Miske makes his return to the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena tonight. Miske was acquired by the Raiders from the Chiefs last season on January 2. The Beaumont, AB product was a second round pick of the Chiefs in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft. Since joining the Raiders, Miske has 23 goals and 24 assists in 53 games.
MARTIN’S MILESTONE: Last night, defenceman Max Martin played in his 100th career WHL game. The Winnipeg, MB product played in 29 games with the Prince George Cougars before being acquired by the Raiders last season. In his career, Martin has 11 goals and 35 assists.
PARKER’S POWER-PLAY POINTS: Forward Parker Kelly scored his third power-play goal of the season on Friday night, deflecting Cole Fonstad’s shot into the back of the net. Kelly is now second on the team in total power-play goals, four behind team leader Jordy Stallard.
SHOOTING GALLERY: With four shots on goal on Friday night, Jordy Stallard increased his team lead to 76 in that category. The next closest Raider is Parker Kelly with 58, followed closely by Vojtech Budik with 56.
