Game Preview: Raiders vs. Kootenay

GAME PROGRAM

RAIDER REVIEW: The Raiders (17-41-5-2) wrap up the week’s schedule on Autism Awareness Night when the Kootenay ICE (14-39-8-2) visit the Art Hauser Centre. Last night, the Raiders dropped a 5-2 game to the Lethbridge Hurricanes in Prince Albert. The Hurricanes stormed out to a 2-0 lead after the first period following power-play goals from Matt Alfaro and Zak Zborosky. In the second, Simon Stransky got the Raiders on the board midway through the frame. However, the ‘Canes restored their two-goal lead late in the second. Max Martin then solved Ryan Gilchrist with 2:30 to play in the middle frame to make it a 3-2 game. The Hurricanes pulled away in the third on goals from Tyler Wong and Alfaro. Nicholas Sanders got the call in goal for the Raiders, making 36 saves in the loss.

JERSEY AUCTION: The Autism Awareness jersey auction wraps up tonight. The online portion of the auction ends at 5 p.m. Any jerseys not bought outright will be added to the silent auction, which already features the jerseys of Brayden Pachal, Cole Fonstad and Ian Scott. For more details regarding the auction or to place a bid, click here. Part of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region.

VS. KOOTENAY: Tonight marks the last meeting of the season between the Raiders and the ICE. The Raiders have won two of the three games against the ICE this season. In the last game, Cole Fonstad scored in the eighth round of the shootout to lift the Raiders to a 4-3 win on Feb. 11.
