Leavitt Machinery Preview – Game 33 at Swift Current
RAIDER REVIEW: The Raiders (29-2-0-1) open a home-and-home series with the Swift Current Broncos (6-23-1-1) tonight at the Innovation Credit Union i-plex. In their last outing, the Raiders prevailed 6-5 in overtime over the Edmonton Oil Kings on Wednesday night at the Art Hauser Centre. Cole Fonstad scored the overtime winner and added two assists. Noah Gregor had a pair of goals and added an assist. Max Martin picked up a goal and three assists in the contest. Parker Kelly also had a multi-point night with a goal and an assist. Carson Miller scored the Raiders’ other goal. Donovan Buskey made 30 saves to earn his sixth win of the season.
VS. SWIFT CURRENT: This is the third time this season the Raiders will face off against the Broncos. In the last meeting, the Raiders fell 3-2 in a shootout in Swift Current. Joel Hofer made 52 saves to pick up the win. Brett Leason and Brayden Pachal scored the Raiders’ goals.

TOP PROSPECT: Brett Leason will be heading to Red Deer in January for the 2019 Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. The 6’4, 199-lb winger from Calgary is tied for the WHL scoring lead with 64 points (28 goals, 36 assists) in 31 games played. With Leason heading to the showcase, the Raiders have been represented in nine-straight Top Prospects Games.
MAX’S MULTIPLES: Defenceman Max Martin recorded a career-high four-point night on Wednesday against the Edmonton Oil Kings. His previous high for points in a game was three, which was set in October against Medicine Hat. On the year, Martin has five goals and 18 assists in 29 games played. He also has six assists over the last four contests.
CENTURY AND A HALF: Parker Kelly recorded his 150th and 151st points of his WHL career on Wednesday night, posting 72 goals and 79 assists in 240 career games. This year, the Senators prospect has 14 goals and 16 assists in 31 contests.
NEXT UP: The Raiders close out the first half of the season on Saturday night at the Art Hauser Centre in the second leg of the home-and-home with the Swift Current Broncos.
